like bookings faxed — optional.
Email address if you would like bookings and
/or amendments and/or cancellations to bookings emailed — optional. You
can have up to three (3) email addresses, separated by commas.
Mobile ‘phone
number if you would like bookings sent as text — optional.
Maximum number of covers per booking – from the Internet and internal. This is very important — you may be limited by the size of your largest table or the maximum number of covers your kitchen can provide for at any one time.
If you wish to accept real time
bookings via the Internet you must enable this option. We
provide the link
for your web developers at “Front End – Reservations”. You have the
option here to disable Internet bookings for specific calendar days and / or
only allow certain days of the week. Please refer your web developer to
our FAQ for developers on our website.
The system accepts bookings until date/month/year — please enters date as far forward as possible.
Tick “Allow incoming bookings to override close-outs” option if you would like to accept 3rd party bookings even at closed times.
You can allow online customers to add themselves to the Waiting List by enabling the appropriate option.
You may disallow Internet bookings at XX minutes before start of service – please fill in time in minutes if you wish to use this facility.
If you wish to control Internet bookings by an access code such as a matriculation number please enter the details here.
If bookings are disabled please enter a suitable message for clients – such as “We have disabled Internet bookings for this service – please ‘phone the restaurant direct to check current late availability”.
Please enter the currency applicable — the currency symbol should appear automatically.
Please tick on the restaurantdiary.com advertisement — we enter something such as:-
”Please click here to recommend another restaurant you feel should be using this system.”
As this generates us automated leads – please leave switched on.
If you would like to send SMS text alerts to customers please tick this option and specify time (in minutes) before the customer’s booked arrival time.
If you would like to have the ability to show that customers have arrived and control your diary in real time through the service (colour changes to green on diary page) please tick this option.
Show restaurantdiary.com™ banner – obviously we would prefer that this is switched on!
If you would like to give the option of having smoking or non smoking tables there is an option here to turn this facility on or off.
There is an option to show customers’ names in one line or have separate lines for first name and surname.
If you would like to require that customers provide a mobile ‘phone number and/or land line, please tick these options, as required.
If you would like to be able to edit
bookings / transfer tables after a customer has arrived
please tick this
option.
Untick option “Show expected leave time to customer” to remove Expected Leave Time from Front-End confirmation page and standard confirmation email to customer.
If customers book online the system automatically sends them an instant email giving them access details to their profile AND the ability to book online in the future. This can be switched on or off as required.
You also have the option to warn users when they attempt to over book a time slot or under utilise table capacity. This will also warn those with rights to “break the rules” when they are doing such.
Back up forward bookings:-
There is an option to turn this off or on and to specify how regularly to take backup and for how many days going forward. The backup should be to your local hard drive — it is a good idea to encourage all staff not to cancel this option when it pops up. We advise to set for 7 days and for all bookings. The report is in HTML format and/ or XML – if you save in XML we provide local software to enable the display of forward bookings in diary format in the event of loss of the Internet connection.
