On the diary front page you can do the following:-
Enter bookings by going to “Make a Booking” and by following the sequence.
Please remember to use the red "MAKE A BOOKING" icon.

Rather than changing the date on diary and pressing "go to Date" use the red "MAKE A BOOKING" icon - it is quicker, checks availability within your set parameters and only refreshes the diary screen after the booking is confirmed.
If you ask the customer if they would like instant confirmation, this can be emailed automatically as soon as the booking is processed ONLY IF you can get the customer's email address.
If you can get the email address and ask the customer if they would like to receive details of special nights, etc. you should then click the “Register” button on the booking form and they are thus automatically added to the restaurant database for future marketing by email and confirmation is sent.
On the first booking screen, you have “drop down” boxes for Staff User, Area, Date, Time, number of covers and, optionally, Stay duration. “Stay duration” is set at a standard time in your Back Office setup for “services”; however, if a customer requests a longer or shorter time at table it is possible to enter this at the time of the booking or edit later.
There are three buttons available to progress the booking, as follows:-
By clicking this button, the system will automatically check availability according to your set system parameters regarding maximum covers per time interval, covers already booked, time at table, rules (such as no 2’s at 4’s on busy nights) and offer the table if free. If there is no table free the system will offer alternative times for staff to try to “switch sell” to the customer. The system will list tables and times free and it is possible to “manually select a table” by clicking on the appropriate box.
At this point, it is also possible to
select
and, effectively, “up sell” perhaps some of
your better wines from your list, which can be retained on the system as
“Bookable Extras”. The customer will then be asked for credit card details
so that payment may be taken for these extras through our deposit processing
system.
By clicking on
you will then arrive at the registration
screen.
By clicking this button, the system will automatically check availability according to set system parameters and if there is a table free it will automatically move to the registration screen, having allocated a table according the “table ranking” parameters set up in your back office.
Where you perhaps have function / private room areas it is possible to book out the whole area up to the maximum covers as set in your back office in “restaurant areas”. By entering the number of covers and clicking this button, the system will automatically book the whole area, subject to there being no existing bookings already for that area and then move to the availability / extras screen and then the registration screen.
